November 2015 Wrap Up

I cannot believe that it is already December. This year has gone by incredibly fast. It feels like yesterday I was just graduating high school, and now I'm finishing up my first semester of college! :O It's kinda scary to be honest. I feel like life is moving by so fast, which is a good thing in one sense because I'm one step closer to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, something that I know will make me incredibly happy, yet at the same time it is scary being thrown until adulthood. At the beginning of this month I turned 18, so legally I am an adult, but I don't feel like an adult. There are times I wish life would speed up, but there are also moments where I just want it to slow down, almost freeze, and let me just read and soak in the world.

Reading wise, November was not a good month, and that is perfectly okay. College, as the usual excuse, was part of the excuse, but not all of it. I promised to read a lot over Thanksgiving Break, but my best friend in the entire world, Neesha, rode all the way to where I am in a Greyhound bus in order to stay with my for the break here at college. That is dedication. So you best believe I spent ever second she was here enjoying time with her. I got a little bit of reading done while she was here cause she likes to read too, but we spend time doing more things, like exploring downtown and of course going to Barnes & Noble.

This next I will more than likely get absolutely no writing done because final exams are next week, but after next week, I am going to read so much, you best believe it. Next Friday I go home for Winter Break and I basically get a month of to read. I plan on using this time to fulfill my Goodreads goal of 100 books and to start and maybe finish some series I'm interested in reading.

Sorry this post is so long and has a lot of writing. To all of you who actually read it all, thank you so much. It really means the world to me to know that there are people out there who care enough to listen to me ramble on the Internet. So without further ado, I bring you my wrap up.

Soundless (read for 4CornersBC) ★★|book talk|

Favorite Book:
Without a doubt, Placebo Junkies. I really enjoyed this book. The writing style, the main character, the twists, humor, messages, contrast between light and twisted, all of it. It was truly a good read that I think you all should pick up.

Least Favorite Book:
Soundless by Richelle Mead was horrible. Absolute shit. I'm thoroughly disappointed in Richelle Mead. I am so disgusted with this book that I'm not even going to write a review. If you want to hear my thoughts, you have to watch the book talk.

How was November for you guys? Get a lot of reading done? Little bit? Did you participate in NanoWrimo? (I tried, failed, but got some writing done, which I can live with) I want to hear all about your month.

  1. I'm sorry this month was slow in reading for you :( My November was too until the very end when I just went on a reading spike! Hopefully the break will give you more time.

  2. Boooo. But did you enjoy college? This is actually my second to last semester in college (dun dun dunn), so all I can say is get ready for the rest of your college life!

I also didn't read much this November, but SOUNDLESS. I really want to hear what you think of it, I've heard equally as bad thoughts on it as well. Which makes me so sad because I thought the premise of it was pretty interesting. Oh well!

    1. College... I enjoy some parts of it, others, not so much. I hope your last semester goes well! Soundless... honestly it just wasn't good. The writing was not great, especially coming from Richelle Mead. Although it is marketed as a Chinese fantasy novel, it really lacks and Chinese elements, and there is only fantasy elements in the last little bit of the book, and it is not expanded on. There is also a romance element that is really rushed and not needed. Overall, it just really was not good.
